Patrick has a substantial background representing businesses and individuals in commercial disputes as a trial lawyer in state and federal courts including dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration and administrative agency hearings, as well as handling corporate transactions, advising businesses through various stages of growth. His primary practice areas include real estate developers and projects, construction companies, insurance claims involving professional engineering, real estate and architect services, unfair competition, employment disputes, oil and gas services, and licensing, software development and related technologies.

Patrick practiced law in Houston as a founding partner of a litigation/oil and gas firm (1981-1997) and then as general counsel of Splitrock Services, Inc, (Nasdaq: SPLT). After seven years in Austin, Patrick relocated to Houston to join Singleton Cooksey PLLC, effective January 1, 2011.
